ABOUT

Action Research
Chronicles

ARCH (Action Research Chronicles) is the output of a 4-month Faculty Research Workshop Series that explores research methodologies to address classroom issues and teaching practices in higher

arts education.

Action research is a systematic approach used in educational research to make valid, reliable, and data-driven teaching improvement. From July to November 2019, colleagues participated in a series of faculty research workshops to effectively connect teaching practices with learning outcomes.

Incorporating both face-to-face and video conferencing mediums, the sessions were designed to trigger teaching improvements through data and to explore various evaluation methods using online tools for data collection.

A total of 23 colleagues participated in the workshops facilitated by A/Prof. Joyce Koh (Higher Education Development Centre, Otago University).

Research data was collected via discussions, interviews, and observations with students. This website showcases the people, research and outcomes of our collective journey in teaching and learning though the arts at NAFA.

ARCH is featured in the second issue of REAP
a NAFA research publication
