This study was initiated after having observed that a significant number of students was not able to articulate and analyse the learning through their written assignments.

Over a period of 14 weeks, 18 Arts Management students, who were enrolled in the Arts and Cultural Industry Project module, participated in this study that examines the practice of writing journals and the students' ability to self-reflect.


This study was initiated after having observed that a significant number of students was not able to articulate and analyze the learning through their written assignments.


For this study, three journal entries were collected and evaluated from each student. The outcome of this research showed that by guiding students in their writing, could enable students to be more analytical in their written reflection.
