Addressing the attention span: does bite-sized lesson structure facilitate better attention span for students resulting in
better learning and lesson engagement?
This research uses design thinking principles to re-design lesson plans for screen media programme. Using a masterclass format of lesson delivery, the research explores how bite-sized lesson structures result in improved learning engagement.
There were 27 second-year screen media students participating in this research. The students experienced bite-sized modules comprising of a mini-lecture, followed by video segments and break-out room consultations during the first semester of AY20/21.

Results show that such lesson structures increase attention span, and smaller break-out discussions lead students to demonstrate learning.
